Universal Studios

Introduction:
Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa. The construction of the theme park and the rest of the resort started on April 19, 2007. It is the second Universal Studios Theme Parks to open in Asia, and the first in Southeast Asia. The official plans for the park were unveiled to the public when Universal Studios Singapore released a map of it to the public on October 20, 2009.

Background info:
The park is 20 hectares in size, occupying the easternmost part of the 49 hectares Resorts World Sentosa. There are a total of 24 attractions, consisting of seven uniquely themed zones which surrounds a lagoon. Each zone is based on a movie or television show, featuring their own unique attractions. The park also includes about 30 restaurants and food carts together with 20 unique retail stores and carts located around the park.

Personal account:
Separating the Universal Studios into different section definitely makes traveling and planning easier. However, to be honest, there is not much variety of rides as there are still some under construction. Despite this, the shows, Monster Rock, Shrek 4D and many others are really nice. Shows like Monster Rock and Waterworld displays the talents of our actors and they keep the audience engaged with heart stopping scenes. Other shows like Shrek 4D and the show Lights! Camera! Action! showcases the extraordinary talent of special effect makers. A trip to Singapore will not be complete without a visit to Universal Studios Singapore.

Directions:
One can take the MRT and alight at the Harbor Front station. After which one can take the Sentosa Express and reach either the Bedok Walk or the Artilery Avenue, near the Merlion. However it would be better if one took a taxi directly to the Universal Studios. Click on the link below to see a map
